Job Description:
Responsible for coordinating Research and Development's (R&D) Clinical services procurement activities.
Responsible for performing sourcing, procurement, and planning activities related to clinical trial support. The selected candidate must possess a strong degree of creativity and project management experience to support the clinical trial function. Responsible for the negotiation, development, execution and performance management of contracts established with clinical research organizations and key suppliers of materials, laboratory services, and general technical consulting. Must excel working in a team environment to select the most desirable suppliers by evaluating quality, cost, delivery and technical capabilities. Must operate using fundamental strategic and tactical sourcing concepts, practices and procedures, capitalizing on extensive purchasing experience and critical analysis to deliver on business goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
BA or BS with related experience required. MS/MBA a plus. Minimum 5 years purchasing experience. Clinical and/or scientific background strongly desired. Proven experience in RFI/RFP/RFQ development, evaluation, negotiations, execution and contract management. Demonstrated proficiency in developing procurement strategies, which comprehend and contribute to overall business objectives, is a must. Candidate must have applied experience in the understanding of legal issues, contractual principles and negotiation techniques used in the development of complex contractual agreements. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to lead and participate on global multi-functional teams, a proven capability in workload management, exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal skills, problem solving skills and significant experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Clinical trial management purchasing or related experience in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry a plus.
Specialized Training: C.P.M. preferred
